“A phenomenal experience” - Scott Cossu, former Windham Hill recording artist and TCO guest artist.
Our mission is twofold: To feature great artists and to help the community. The October concert will feature "The greatest Irish band in the world", Solas, and will be the highlight of Breast Cancer Awareness Month sponsored by Rosemark WomenCare, Mountain View Hosiptal and Biddulph and Huntsman Orthopedics. We feel that it is our duty lend a helping hand through the tools of music.
“When can I come back?” Beth Nielsen Chapman
The Teton Chamber Orchestra was founded with a simple premise – to bring great instrumental music back to the audience. The concert should be an experience where the audience participates in the process. Our concerts are innovative, inspiring, and memorable. We will listen to what the audience wants and respond accordingly. Our premier concert, featuring renowned Salt Lake City composer Kurt Bestor, sent a clear message to the audience that we are here as innovators, not followers. The Teton Chamber Orchestra is truly different - one of a kind.
Innovative programming sensitive to the needs of the audience and the musicians is at the forefront of the mission of the ensemble. Our aim is to bring the very best musical artists to our region. From jazz to contemporary folk to new age, every concert will break new ground. We are providing our musical guests with the opportunity to perform with a full orchestra, many for the first time. Our performances also include the use of various multimedia – something for the eyes as well as the ears. Music is full of imagery; to deny the visual component of music is to lack imagination.
We have assembled the best musicians from throughout our region into an ensemble of the highest-caliber to perform with internationally known guest artists. From Chris Botti to Jim Brickman, Beth Nielsen Chapman, Will Ackerman, Scott Cossu Collin Raye, and Kurt Bestor, our guest artists embody our greatest desire - to bring you music at its most uncompromising and dignified level.
Our mission is also to help educate future generations of young musicians. During the 2006-2007 season, the Teton Chamber Orchestra sponsored master classes for area school musicians with electric violinist Tracy Silverman and with singer/songwriter Beth Nielsen Chapman as part of our commitment to the community.
Our dreams are large, but our vision is clear. We are going to change the direction of the musical arts in our region. Honesty and integrity in all that we do guides our vision of the Teton Chamber Orchestra. Help us make our dreams become a reality. Help us change the course of the arts in our region.
