On February 6th, one of the greatest singer-songwriters of all time David Wilcox, will be joining the Teton Chamber Orchestra for his first symphony concert. David recently tied for second place with Bob Dylan in Acoustic Guitar magazine's Reader's Poll of Singer/Songwriters. First place went to James Taylor and the rest of the list is a virtual Who's Who of the greatest songwriters. Fans of James Taylor and Sara Hickman will love David's gift of melody and soothing voice. David has been one of my favorite singers for years and I am very excited to have this opportunity to work with him and to be able to bring an artist of such talent and stature to Idaho Falls.

One of the hottest and most viral videos on YouTube right now (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0v3d6SFcDys) belongs to our May artist, Jon Schimdt. A gifted pianist, Jon's arrangement of Love Story and Viva la Vida fits right into the driving concept behind the Teton Chamber Orchestra, new music for a new audience. "Waterall" has become a staple of piano studio repertoire and Jon's other music displays his innate gift for melody. His works will blend seamlessly with the orchestra and give the audience a musical evening they will never forget.

07.20.06 | We are the next generation
The Teton Chamber Orchestra is currently preparing for its fourth season. Bringing musical artists of the highest caliber to our region has been one of our main goals since our inception. and we have met those goals in performances with artists such as Jim Brickman, Chris Botti, Beth Nielsen Chapman, Will Ackerman and Scott Cossu. We are the only orchestra in the United States that uses an orchestra solely to accompany the artist. Our guest artists have sold millions of albums and won numerous awards, including several Grammys, Emmys, and even the Country Music Association’s coveted Song of the Year (This Kiss, Beth Nielsen Chapman). We are fast gaining a national reputation for our cutting-edge creativity and exemplary musicality. We are redefining what an orchestra can do.

People from all over the United States have flown in to see our groundbreaking concerts. Windham Hill founder and Grammy winner Will Ackerman performed with a orchestra for the first time with the Teton Chamber Orchestra, as have many other world-class artists. If you are considering a trip to the heart of Yellowstone and Grand Teton country, please mark one of our concerts as a destination as well.
